Getting to The InterContinental Kuala Lumpur
When I arrived in KL, I jumped on the KLIA Ekspres train from the airport to KL Sentral. It’s just a 28-minute ride. From there, I used the Grab App to catch a car to the hotel, which was a quick 15-minute drive.
I snagged a room at the InterContinental for just 30,000 IHG One Rewards points, which is a steal compared to using points in North America. Plus, having a lounge pass I earned after 50 nights made the stay an awesome deal.

Check-In InterContinental Kuala Lumpur
On arrival I was told since I'm Diamond Ambassador with IHG, I would be checked in at the Club InterContinental lounge.
Checking in was a breeze, and they gave me a welcome drink while they handled the paperwork and explained all the perks I get at the hotel.
Elegant Accommodation

Spacious and Stylish

For me, a good-sized desk in a hotel room is super important, and this one was just right. Plus, having that ledge on the right gave me a bit more space, which was perfect.

I really enjoy having a room with a rainfall shower head.

Elegant Décor and Atmosphere

This inviting space at Club InterContinental Kuala Lumpur features elegant décor and a warm, contemporary atmosphere. The lounge is adorned with stylish artwork and comfortable seating, creating a sophisticated setting for guests to relax or enjoy a meal. Natural light streams in through large windows, enhancing the welcoming ambiance and making it an ideal spot for both leisure and business gatherings.

Final Thoughts
This was my second time staying at the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur. The first visit was seven years back, and I didn't get lounge access or any upgrades. This time around, with 70 stays and being an Ambassador, I got both!
The lounge was awesome with great service and food. They just gave me the menu for afternoon tea, probably because I was by myself. Couples or groups got the usual three-tier selection.
The only bummer about this stay was that an ASEAN summit was about to kick off in Kuala Lumpur. This meant there was extra security at the hotel, and they had only the main entrance open while the other doors were closed.
