I’m on the first of two flights to reach Bangkok, with a nine-hour stopover in Doha ahead of me. To make the most of my layover, I’ve booked the Discover Doha tour—an exciting way to explore the city before continuing my journey.

Boarding and Seat Selection
Originally, I had picked seat 8A, but due to an equipment change, I ended up in 6B. At first, I was concerned since 6B is in the last row of business class. However, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. With the washrooms and galley located at the front, there was minimal foot traffic from passengers and crew. The only time it felt busy was during boarding and deplaning, as 6B is closest to the door.

Boarding was smooth and efficient. As I stepped onto the aircraft and turned right, I was immediately struck by the understated elegance of the Qsuite cabin. Seat 6B was the first on the right, offering a great vantage point to observe the cabin’s layout and the attentive service from the crew.
Settling In: The Qsuite Experience

The Qsuite itself is impressive—spacious, private, and thoughtfully designed. The sliding door and adjustable panels allowed me to create my own cocoon, blocking out the rest of the cabin for a truly personal space. The seat was wide and plush, easily converting into a fully flat bed. Storage compartments were plentiful, and all controls—including USB-A and HDMI ports—were within easy reach.

Shortly after settling in, a friendly flight attendant greeted me by name, offered a welcome drink, and presented a set of soft, comfortable pajamas. The amenity kit was well-stocked with high-quality products, including socks, an eye mask, and luxury skincare items.

Takeoff and In-Flight Service
The flight pushed back right on schedule, and we were airborne within 24 minutes. The takeoff was smooth, and I enjoyed watching the city lights fade away as we climbed into the night sky.

Service began promptly after takeoff. The crew offered a glass of So Jennie sparkling rosé, accompanied by a warm assortment of nuts. Throughout the flight, the cabin crew was exceptionally attentive—always available, yet never intrusive. They anticipated my needs, refilled drinks without being asked, and checked in regularly to ensure I was comfortable.

Dining: A Culinary Journey
The dining experience was a highlight of the flight. The menu featured a range of international and local dishes, all beautifully presented. For my starter, I chose the Balik-style salmon with pumpkin and mascarpone mousseline—a delicate and flavorful combination. The main course was a perfectly grilled Ontario Angus steak with mushroom jus, served with seasonal vegetables and creamy mashed potatoes.

Comfort and Entertainment
All your controls in one convenient location, including USB- A and HDMI.
After dinner, I transformed my seat into a bed using the intuitive controls. The bedding was soft and inviting, and I managed to get about six hours of restful sleep—a rarity for me on long-haul flights. The Qsuite’s privacy made a huge difference, allowing me to relax without distractions.
The in-flight entertainment system offered a wide selection of movies, TV shows, and music. The large, high-resolution screen and noise-cancelling headphones made it easy to pass the time.

For breakfast, I opted for the mushroom omelette with chicken sausage, accompanied by fresh fruit, pastries, and a strong cup of coffee. The quality and presentation of each meal rivaled that of a fine restaurant.
Arrival and Final Impressions
As we approached Doha, the crew ensured everyone was refreshed and ready for arrival. Landing was smooth, and deplaning from seat 6B was quick since it’s so close to the door.
This was my first time flying with Qatar Airways, and the Qsuite exceeded all my expectations. The combination of privacy, comfort, attentive service, and excellent food made this one of the best business class experiences I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend the Qsuite to anyone seeking a luxurious and restful journey.
